I am currently obsessed with my succulent garden. As someone who has moved SO many times for the artist/academic gig (I have averaged more than once a year since my mid twenties, it is painful :/) I love the idea of 'roots' and this year, have been collecting weird succulents that delight me each morning. It brings me so much daily pleasure to see them bloom and grow weird bumps and appendages and research them and make little soil mixtures and watering schedules :) it is how I take a break during computer days. plus the shapes (booby cactus!) are delicious and often vaguely inappropriate. I now have 18 indoor and outdoor & looking to grow to 30...can't stop, won't stop :)
