I have been collecting Polaroids and Instax films. As we indulge ourselves in this world of overwhelming electronic imagery, I have been fascinated with physical pictures. These images can be physically available, and you can call yours.

Polaroids and Instax films have been a staple in preserving a nostalgic feeling. As a kid, I have gone through picture albums that portrayed life before social media. Unboxing these images created sentimental emotions of yearning. With Polaroids and Instax films, I wanted to recreate the sensations of pleasant incidents in a rare 1-to-1 copy of a physical image.

My collection evolved when I started learning film photography back in Uni. The fondness of physically creating an image weighed more emotions of success. The thrill comes from unknowingly revealing a film image as it develops, carrying an uncanny sense of discovery. But when it comes to Polaroid and Instax films, my collection involves the people who surround me. This collection evolves as I manage to capture and share these images of sensibility. Images that evoke nostalgia and shared memories.
