I'm a Ceramicist, Florist, and Art Educator who owns and operates Eucalyptus and Company in the heart of Milwaukee WI. At Eucalyptus & Co. I teach pottery and stained glass classes and also work on floral orders for weddings and events. I host a variety of other artists to teach their medium in the space as well. From collage to print making and everything in between, the class schedules change from month to month. Prior to my current space, I co owned and operated Yours Truly Studio for 2 years and was a member for 4 years.
Running a ceramics studio means balancing multiple tasks at once—whether it’s managing the kiln schedule, coordinating with artists or students, or maintaining the studio’s equipment. Managing a space requires you to juggle deadlines and keep everything running smoothly, even when it feels like there’s not enough time in the day. Ceramics can be unpredictable. The kiln might malfunction, clay might crack unexpectedly, or glazes might turn out differently than planned. Operating a studio has taught me to quickly assess problems and come up with creative solutions, staying calm under pressure. While teaching or providing space for others to work, I'm fostering a community of artists & students which is truly one of my favorite things about the space. Creating a supportive, collaborative environment is key! I've learned a lot about communication, encouragement, and helping others build their skills while nurturing a shared creative space. Being involved in teaching in a studio setting, I've learned how to guide people through the creative process, provide constructive feedback, and am always adapting my teaching style to different learning paces.
